About Binance
Binance is the largest centralized crypto exchange in the world by trading volume. Changpeng Zhao (CZ) and Yi He founded it in 2017, and it now serves users in more than 100 countries. This page tracks Binance trading volume, its most traded markets and the coins it lists, updated in real time. Binance usually sits at the top of the top crypto exchanges ranking on Coinranking.
Where is Binance located?
Binance started in China in 2017 and moved its base several times since. It now runs as a global company with regional entities and licences in countries such as France, Italy and the United Arab Emirates. It is not available in the United States, China and some other countries. Binance.US is a separate company for American users.

Spot trading starts at 0.10% for makers and takers. Fees drop for high-volume VIP accounts, and users who pay fees in BNB get a discount. Crypto deposits are free, and withdrawal fees depend on the coin and network.
Is Binance safe?
Binance keeps most user funds in cold storage, publishes proof-of-reserves reports and runs SAFU, an emergency fund for user losses. It reimbursed users after a hack in 2018. In 2023 it agreed to pay $4.3 billion to US authorities over anti-money laundering failures, and CZ stepped down as CEO. Check the rules in your country before you sign up.
How does Binance compare?
