What Proposal 346 Would Do<\/h2>\n

If the proposal passes and the token and migration portal audits are completed, which is expected to take two to three weeks, AKT would launch on Solana as an SPL token. The migration would be one-to-one and keep the AKT ticker. A one-way migration portal would stay open for two years.<\/p>\n

Staked AKT must first be unstaked, with the usual 21-day unbonding period, before it can be migrated. The proposal sets no switchover date. Moving the marketplace and services would need a separate switchover proposal later.<\/p>\n

Why Akash Chose Solana<\/h2>\n

Akash said it chose Solana mainly because of operating costs under load, the absence of a single operator and the concentration of the DePIN ecosystem on the network, according to the proposal coverage.
