The XRP (XRP)<\/a> Ledger activated the fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment on November 5, 2026, closing a token permissions loophole while the network's native lending amendment is still short of validator votes. According to the XRPScan amendment tracker<\/a>, about 33 of 35 trusted validators backed the upgrade, above the 80 percent threshold it needed.<\/p>\n

What fixCleanup3_4_0 Changes<\/h2>\n

The amendment separates mint and burn authorities for issued tokens. Before the fix, an account delegated only to burn tokens could in some edge cases mint new ones. That gap mattered most for issued assets such as stablecoins on the ledger, where wallet operators often delegate burning to a separate key. The fix draws a clean line between minting and burning permissions.<\/p>\n

The bundle also improves accuracy for vault deposits and withdrawals, lending calculations, default handling, AMM clawbacks and settlement rules. It does not change the supply of XRP.<\/p>\n

Why the Security Fix Came First<\/h2>\n

The cleanup includes preparatory repairs for lending math and rules, so validators activated it ahead of the larger DeFi features. Vote trackers described the change as network hygiene before more tokenized asset activity arrives on the XRP Ledger ecosystem<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Where the XRP Lending Vote Stands<\/h2>\n

The LendingProtocol amendment has about 19 of 35 validator votes, 10 short of the 29 needed to start its two-week activation countdown. Its companion SingleAssetVault amendment has about 21 votes. At the current pace, the earliest activation is mid to late November 2026.<\/p>\n

Lending would add onchain borrowing and lending pools to the XRP Ledger, a major layer 1 blockchain<\/a>. The SingleAssetVault amendment is the dependency for the vault side of that design, which is why both amendments are moving through voting together.
