Elysium, the first Layer 2 network in the Hyperliquid ecosystem, launches mainnet on November 9, 2026. Kinetiq, the liquid staking platform behind kHYPE, built the chain and runs its sequencer. Elysium settles to HyperEVM and uses Hyperliquid (HYPE)<\/a> as its native gas token from day one.<\/p>\n

HYPE Is the Gas Token<\/h2>\n

Every transaction on Elysium pays fees in HYPE. The token bridges from HyperEVM 1:1 and withdraws 1:1, with no wrapper asset and no separate gas token, according to the project's documentation<\/a>. The design puts a second network's activity behind the same coin that already pays for fees on HyperEVM.<\/p>\n

Built for Trading Apps<\/h2>\n

HyperEVM processes small blocks of about 3 million gas once per second. Elysium targets 300 million gas per second with blocks every 100 milliseconds, roughly two orders of magnitude more gas per second than HyperEVM. That fits onchain order books, market makers and matching engines that update many times per second. The fee environment is tuned so that refreshing quotes 5 to 10 times per second stays cheap. Contracts can read Hyperliquid's live order books and balances directly, without oracle pushes.<\/p>\n

On testnet, a block arrives every 100 to 150 milliseconds and a transaction receipt in about one second. A transaction is final once the batch that contains it lands on HyperEVM.<\/p>\n

What Goes Live at Launch<\/h2>\n

Elysium is a general-purpose EVM chain, so standard Solidity apps deploy unchanged. Uniswap plans to support its v4 hooks on the network, which lets developers run pools with custom trading logic. The project describes a token lifecycle inside one ecosystem: a token can launch on an Elysium AMM, deepen on proprietary market maker pools, graduate to a HyperCore spot order book and reach a perpetual listing through HIP-3.<\/p>\n
