Indicator Questions
Coinranking technical indicators API provides six endpoints: moving averages (SMA and EMA at 20, 50, 100 and 200 periods with Bollinger Bands), RSI (14-period with a 14-candle average), MACD (12/26/9 line, signal and histogram), ATR (14-period), Supertrend (10, 3 with direction) and the market-wide Fear and Greed Index. See the indicators introduction.
On the interval you choose. A period on Coinranking indicators API is one candle of the requested interval, so interval=day gives the familiar 14-day RSI or 200-day moving average and interval=hour gives 14-hour and 200-hour ones. Each timePeriod allows a set of intervals, listed in the docs; day is available from timePeriod=7d upwards.
Coinranking calculates RSI with Wilder's smoothing, the original 14-period definition, rather than a plain mean of the last 14 changes. The series is warmed up on a long run of earlier candles before the first returned point, so the first value is already converged, and each point also carries rsiMa, a 14-candle simple average of the RSI.
Yes, without another request. The moving-averages endpoint publishes bbUpper20 and bbLower20 at two standard deviations around ma20. The standard deviation is (bbUpper20 − ma20) / 2, so bands at one, two and a half or three deviations are one multiplication away, and ma20 is the middle band.
Every indicator endpoint on Coinranking API is Professional, at $199 a month with a 30-day free trial. Because they are Professional-only, every timePeriod up to all is available, and the Free plan's one-year history limit does not apply. Indicators are calculated from the same aggregated price as the OHLCV endpoint and every other Coinranking price.
Coinranking Fear and Greed Index endpoint returns a market-wide sentiment score from 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed) per point, built from volatility, momentum, social sentiment and other inputs, from 24 hours to all time at hour, day, week or month intervals. It is the series behind the Fear and Greed chart on coinranking.com.
