Indicators
Indicators are tools that help traders analyze price action, volume, and overall market trends. They can reveal signals such as momentum, volatility, and potential entry or exit opportunities. Common examples include moving averages, the RSI, the MACD, the ATR, the Supertrend and the Fear and Greed Index.
Endpoints
- Coin moving averages
Get the 20, 50, 100 and 200-period simple (SMA) and exponential (EMA) moving averages for a coin throughout time, counted in candles of the interval you request, plus Bollinger Bands around the 20-period average. Moving averages smooth out price data over a number of candles, helping to identify longer-term trends; the bands show how far the closing price is spread around ma20, the 20-period average.
- Coin RSI
Get the 14-period Relative Strength Index for a coin throughout time, counted in candles of the interval you request, together with a 14-candle average of it. The RSI weighs recent gains against recent losses on a 0-100 scale, and is read for momentum and for overbought or oversold conditions.
- Coin MACD
Get the MACD line, signal line and histogram for a coin throughout time, at the conventional 12/26/9 lengths. MACD tracks the gap between a fast and a slow moving average against an average of that gap, so crossings between the two lines mark shifts in momentum.
- Coin ATR
Get the 14-period Average True Range for a coin throughout time, counted in candles of the interval you request. The ATR measures volatility — the average height of a candle, gaps included — as a price in the reference currency, so it says how far a coin is moving without saying which way.
- Coin Supertrend
Get the Supertrend (10, 3) line for a coin throughout time, together with the direction it is reading. The line trails the price by 3 ATRs and flips sides when the price closes through it, so it is read as a trend-following stop that widens for a volatile coin and tightens for a quiet one.
- Fear and Greed Index
Get the Fear and Greed Index for the cryptocurrency market throughout time. This market-wide sentiment indicator measures the current mood of the crypto market on a scale from 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed).
