Solace by Virtuals is an emotionally intelligent AI companion designed to deliver continuous, context-aware mental health support. Unlike conventional chatbots that simply respond to text, Solace is built to understand how a user feels — using voice, tone, and behavioral signals to offer grounded, personalized care.

The SOLACE token is the agent token that powers and represents the Solace AI on the Virtuals Protocol, a platform that tokenizes autonomous AI agents on Base.

History & Background

Solace was created by a team of students from UC Berkeley, active in the Blockchain@Berkeley community. The project emerged from a track record of hackathon wins and a shared conviction that mental health support should be immediate, intuitive, and emotionally intelligent.

The team claimed the grand prize at the inaugural Virtuals Protocol Hackathon, which launched Solace into the broader Web3 AI agent ecosystem.

How Solace by Virtuals Works

Solace uses several layered technologies to understand and respond to a user's emotional state:

SOLACE is issued as an Agent Token through Virtuals Protocol's tokenization framework. This model enables capital formation around the AI agent, allowing community members and supporters to hold a stake in the agent's growth and success.

Token utility is tied directly to the Solace agent's ecosystem — supporting access, participation, and incentive alignment between creators, token holders, and the agent itself. A portion of agent-generated revenue flows back to the broader Virtuals DAO, aligning individual agent tokens with the health of the wider protocol.
