What is Crypton (CRP)?: Crypton (CRP) is the native utility token of the Utopia P2P ecosystem, a decentralized privacy-first network. It is used for anonymous, untraceable payments, staking rewards, and accessing services within the platform.
Who created Crypton?: Crypton was created by the 1984 Group, a UK-registered LP composed of anonymous developers. The team chose to remain pseudonymous to protect the project from government and third-party interference.
When was Crypton launched?: The Utopia P2P ecosystem, and with it CRP, went live on November 18, 2019. The token became available on external exchanges in September 2020.
How does Crypton keep transactions private?: CRP transactions are anonymous by default and do not reveal any identifying information on the blockchain. Only the sender and receiver have any record of a transaction, and the network uses Curve25519 elliptic curve cryptography along with 256-bit AES encryption.
How is CRP earned or mined?: New CRP is distributed to nodes that help maintain the Utopia network and meet minimum requirements, in a process called mining. Users can also earn staking rewards by maintaining a minimum CRP balance in their wallet.
