renZEC has a fully dynamic supply — tokens are minted when ZEC is deposited into RenVM and burned when ZEC is redeemed. There is no fixed issuance schedule. The supply at any moment directly reflects the amount of ZEC locked in the protocol, maintaining the 1:1 peg by design.
A small minting and burning fee is charged on each transaction. This fee is distributed to Darknode operators as compensation for providing the network's computing and storage resources.
