What is POL used for?: POL is used to pay gas fees on Polygon PoS, stake to secure the network and earn rewards, and participate in governance through Polygon Improvement Proposals. Future plans expand its role to staking across multiple AggLayer-connected chains.
What is the AggLayer?: The AggLayer is Polygon's aggregation layer that connects multiple Layer-2 chains, allowing seamless asset movement and shared liquidity across the ecosystem. It uses zero-knowledge proofs to unify these chains as if they were part of a single network.
How does POL staking work?: POL holders can delegate or stake their tokens with validators on the Polygon PoS network. Stakers earn a share of the 2% annual emissions allocated to the staking contract as a reward for helping secure the network.
