Base is Coinbase’s optimistic-rollup Layer-2, built on the open-source OP Stack. It delivers Ethereum security with sub-$0.01 fees and sub-second confirmations, while offering Coinbase-product distribution to 100m+ verified users. Mainnet went public in August 2023 and has become one of the fastest-growing L2s by TVL and daily transactions.
