This makes renBTC permissionless and trustless, with no single point of control.
How do I mint renBTC?: You send Bitcoin to RenVM, which locks it and issues a minting signature via its Darknode network. You then use that signature to mint an equivalent amount of renBTC on Ethereum.
How do I redeem my Bitcoin from renBTC?: To get your BTC back, you burn your renBTC on Ethereum. RenVM detects the burn and releases the corresponding amount of Bitcoin to your specified Bitcoin address.
What is RenVM?: RenVM is the decentralized virtual machine at the core of the Ren Protocol. It uses Secure Multiparty Computation and a network of Darknodes to securely custody cross-chain assets and facilitate lock-and-mint transactions.
